Cumulative Tale
Hope is overwhelmed by G.T. dying in this chapter. Point out the lines on p. 178:
I didn't think I was strong enough to handle this.
I couldn't stand the thought of this loss.
I was sick of life being so impossibly hard.

Focus on the line "I was sick of life being so impossibly hard." Students will use this sentence as the first line and add sentences focusing on the hard things that Hope endures to create a cumulative tale.
